My little sister is married...
...and we are all thrilled!
Grant and Suzanne had a beautiful wedding today at the All Souls UU Church in Washington, DC. It reflected them perfectly.
From the relaxed tone and comfortable pacing of the ceremony to the themes of social justice that they were sure to include as part of their commitment to each other to the warmth of wonderful friends - it really was their day.
It was an emotional one for me.
Suz and I have spent a lot of time together. We were the last two to leave our family nest. We chose to live together here in DC for 6 years. We had chosen to live together in Seattle too. We even shared a bedroom there. I have a comfort level with her that comes from really sharing your everyday lives - good and bad. When I was ready to test the waters of coming out, she was the trusted first person that I told.
I took the pic below as I was arriving at the church today. Suzanne happened to be on the front steps and looked beautiful.
When I saw her there, I started crying then and couldn't really stop until the ceremony was over. That doesn't usually happen to me at these kinds of events. But I could tell she was so happy and it touched my heart.
There are many more pics of the wedding on my flickr account here.

Ah bless! Congratulations to them both
