Adi and I are cooling our heals for several hours here in Frankfurt - waiting for our connection to Washington.
Our flight left Delhi this morning at 330am. It was a bit of a scrum trying to get through the check-in process at the airport there. I dont think we were really prepared for the chaos - particularly at 3am in the morning. Now I know why everyone said get there 3 hours early. We needed it. Apparently the concept of single file lines has not hit Indira Ghandi International Airport. It took Adi and I a while to catch on, but once we did, we scrummed with the best of them there. When in Rome...
Our last day in India was nice and relaxing - if a bit melancholy. It was sad to see Andy off to Bombay. Anyone that knows Andy knows that he has a presence that can not be replicated or replaced. He is very special. Memories of my first trip to India will be intricately intertwined with being reunited with him for 12 days. Washington misses him. I do too.
Shockingly, Adi and I did more shopping on our last day in India. I actually had to buy not one, but TWO additional suitcases to bring back clothes, shoes, gifts, artwork, etc. I think my house in Mount Pleasant will seem like a little India museum of sorts now. I hope to open up my first exhibit very soon. :-)
I am going to go caffeinate myself some more now. I will write some additional thoughts and post pics once I return home...
