Well, at least these days. It's a great time to be a New England sports fan and as of this afternoon, I am back up in New England.
The Red Sox won the World Series last night. The Patriots smoked the Redskins -their worst loss EVER - and remain undefeated and on their way to another Super Bowl. Boston College is undefeated and ranked #2 in college football. I think the Celtics are even supposed to be good this year. I don't know about the Bruins. Professional hockey is silly.
All of this is happening with Boston teams. Maine doesn't have any major league teams - so we follow the Boston ones. Augusta is probably 3-4 hours north of Beantown, but the fans up here are crazy for the Boston teams. I am still much more attached to the Boston teams than the DC teams - even after living in DC for 15 years.
The pic, by the way, is of a Patriots player. Not the New England Patriots - but the Augusta Junior Football Patriots - maybe 30 years ago. I loved those socks.
Man, you were packing! Muscles, that is.

WOW...Now this pic should have been included in "The Art of the American Snapshot" exhibit :-). You gotta love the socks, and that intense look on your face like you're ready to kick some serious butt...PRICELESS :-)
