Unbelievably, I have had no caffeine for ONE YEAR!
That means no coffee. FOR A YEAR. And when I quit in early October 2008, I was drinking 10 cups a day. Basically I had a cup-o-joe in hand from early morning to late at night.
I thought I needed it for energy - but I actually do have way more energy now. Way more. And none of that sluggish, hazy, I feel like a zombie kind of feeling that comes from addiction to the bean.
So how and why did I do it? Well, I was in Seoul for work and had planned to spend a weekend at a Buddhist monastery in the mountains to end the trip. It was amazing. But...they had no coffee - so I was forced to give it up. And to sleep on the floor. And to meditate for hours at a time. All very good stuff. More here.
At the end of the weekend, I figured I had basically given up coffee (and caffeine) anyway - so why not continue and see how it goes.
I haven't looked back. Yet. I gotta say though - I do still miss the feel, the smell of a cup of coffee in the morning. Not the taste - just the cup.
I am gonna go make a cup of tea now...
Congrats! Good job! Can you give me the address of the house you mentioned in the Sep 26th post?

Congrats! My coffee drinking is limited to one mug when I first get to work, and it's rare that I deviate from that. Now chai on the other hand....
