Porque yo estoy aqui en Guatemala por estudiar espanol, intento escribir mi blog en esa idioma. Tengo muchos amigos quienes hablan espanol y Uds. puedan mi corregir. Por favor. No se donde esta los accentos espanol en mi teclado, entonces quizas uso los accentos y quizas no los uso. No se.
Because I am here in Guatemala to study Spanish, I am trying to write my blog in that language. I have many friends who speak Spanish and you can correct me. Please. I don’t know where in my keyboard are the Spanish accent marks, and so maybe I will use them and maybe I won’t. I don’t know.
Yo llegue a San Pedro a media noche despues un viaje de 12 horas de Washington. Tres horas en el carro de la Ciudad de Guatemala a San Pedro. Principalmente en las montanas. En general, no hubo autopistas. En la manana, me encuentre la familia con quienes voy vivir esta semana. Jose, Maria, and sus hijo – Felix. Felix tiene 7 anos. A mi, me gusta mucha la familia. Ellos son amable. Hablo solomente espanol con la familia. Quizas, el nivel de mi espanol es mas parecido a Felix – el nino. Esta manana, juegaron “marbles”. Yo quiere decir la palabras “juego” pero dije “jugo”. Felix me corregio. Gracias.
I arrived in San Pedro a midnight after a 12 hour journey from Washington. Three hours in a car from Guatemala City to San Pedro. Mostly in the mountains. Generally, there were no highways. In the morning I met the family with whom I will be living this week. Jose, Maria, and their son Felix. Felix is 7 years old. I like the family very much. They are very kind. I am speaking only English with the family. Maybe the level of my Spanish is most similar to Felix – the boy. This morning we played marbles. I meant to say the word “game” but I said “juice”. Felix corrected me. Thank you.
Hoy, a domingos, no hay clases, entonces me encuentre al pueblo un poco. Estuve aqui solomente un dia en 2010 con Jean durante nos vacaciones. El mas importante, hoy en la manana, visite la escuala. Muy bonita. Las clases estaran fuera en un jardin. Comenzere manana a las 9. Seis horas pro dia. De las 9 de la manana a las 5 de la tarde, con un descanso de dos horas a media dia. Despues de la clase, a las 6 or 7 de la noche, cenare con la familia. Estoy deseando a las cenas! Pero no lo vei una cocina o mesa. Una otra surprise para mi – a manana.
Today, on Sundays, there are no classes and so I got to know the town a bit. I was here for just one day in 2010 with Jean during our vacation. Most important, this morning I visited the school. Beautiful. The classes will be outdoors in a garden. I will start tomorrow at 9am. 6 hours per day. From 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon with a 2 hour break a noon. After class, at 6 or 7 in the evening, I will eat dinner with the family. I am looking forward to the dinners. But I have not seen a kitchen or a table. Another surprise for me – tomorrow.
