This morning we arrived in Quito and started exploring immediately. Quito has an old city that is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Maybe the first? Too lazy to fact check that. It is beautiful with tons to see. Lots and lots of churches. Unfortunately, you can’t take pics inside of them. They are stunning. We roamed the city for 6 or 7 hours before freshening up a bit and heading to the party part of town, the Mariacal, for dinner and dessert. Great day!
And here are my Five Favorite Fotos from day eight...
Nature...
Quito’s Plaza Grande has the perfect mix of flora and old guys hanging out.
Beauty...
Quito is built on hills nestled in the mountains and volcanoes.
Fun...
Crowds and performers in the Plaza del Teatro.
Spirit...
This town is packed full of churches, convents, and monasteries. Iglesia San Francisco.
Just liked it...
These little “deliquentos” (as a local bystander called them) sprayed Jean with foam and called us names. The old town here has a problem with crime and general unsavoriness.
