Today we checked out of Otavalo and headed south to Quito to catch a flight to Cuenca. Fabien, driver + guide, took us and so it was a good time with several stops along the way.
The pic above is of Jean and I straddling the equator at Quitsato. He is in the southern hemisphere. Me in the north. Ecuadorians claim their country is the actual center of the world because theirs is the only ecuatorial country where there is a mountain range along the equator allowing them to see in both directions (or something like that).
We also stopped in Cayumbe for their world famous bizcochitos. Jean loved them. I thought they were too dry. Our last stop before the airport in Quito was the pre-Incan pyramids of Cochasqui. It was beautiful and we had a great tour. Lots of spiritual, cultural, and scientific significance.
And here are my Five Favorite Fotos from day three...
Nature...
There were tons of llamas and alpacas (don't know which is which) roaming the pyramids.
Beauty...
It’s in the eye of the beholder. I am sure this guy is beautiful to someone.
Fun...
pitstop for local delicacies along the way.
Spirit...
Jean and one of the pyramids.
Just liked it...
Jean snapped this one as a couple llamas were nuzzling me all over.
