And the more we saw and experienced the rest of the city, the more we liked it. We walked for hours and hours today. Through parks, through the National Museum, around the shopping/restaurant/bar district (the Mariscal). Twice. Once in the daytime and once at night. We even walked around the top of an even higher peak in the city (after taking a gondola up). Actually, the lower slopes of the Pichincha volcano - but still >2.5 miles above sea level. Like we needed more altitude.
The city is just fantastic.
And here are my Five Favorite Fotos from day six...
Nature...
Just a bit of the scenery after riding the Teleferiqo to the top of a mountain.
Beauty...
Well, Jean, of course. But this is the breakfast area of our Hacienda hotel - which is stunning.
Fun...
El Mariscal on a Saturday night. We loved the energy of this neighborhood both day and night.
Spirit...
In the National Museum. One of the many pieces bringing to life Ecuador's pre-Inca past.
Just liked it...
Jean and his first bowl of ceviche.
