These three birdhouses are at the entrance to my "home" here in San Miguel. Every time I pass by them, which is often throughout the day, I sing a bit of my favorite They Might Be Giants song - Birdhouse in Your Soul.
And while you're at it
Keep the nightlight on inside the
Birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Today was a bit more relaxed but still wonderful. Lots of thinking. Some planning. For the trip. For life. For lunch.
I did a house and garden tour with what must have been every retired American or Canadian in Mexico. Interesting - from an anthropological perspective. I jumped off the bus after the second house (which just happened to be next to mine).
Dane and I returned to the tequila bar from last night and ended up having dinner next to a retired couple we bumped into last night. They were wonderful. Great chat.
And here are my Five Favorite Fotos from day two of my Walkabout...
Nature...
I spent much of afternoon in the back patio reading next to a tree full of these things.
Beauty...
The sky here really is the perfect canvas for the colors of the town. Just keep looking up.
Fun...
These two plopped down by my table and started playing during my coffee break.
Spirit...
This motorcyclist stopped for some time at this shrine to Our Lady of Sorrows.
Just liked it...
The lights, the colors, the coming and going, and the Dodge just grabbed me.
And more photos here at my flickr account.
Your nature photo is of a red bottlebrush tree. Had one of those growing outside of my apartment in Phoenix way back when.
Loving your beautiful photos and your incredibly thoughtful reflections of life.
Keep 'em coming.
